The free agent is a single research prompt for chat. Starter includes an upgraded version of it (source ranking, conflict and freshness checks, depth and format options), adds the Content Outline and Task Runner agents that hand work to each other, and includes n8n workflows, a Notion tracker and a full setup guide. You don't need both.
After every answer, each agent prints a Safety Review: did it stay on task, invent anything, rely on weak or outdated sources, or take any action without your approval? If something affects the main findings, it warns you at the top.

No. The agents work by pasting them into Claude or ChatGPT, and the n8n workflow is imported and set up by following the guide. No code is involved.
That's fine. Every agent works on its own in Claude or ChatGPT. The n8n workflow is for when you want research to run with live search and email approvals, but it isn't required.
For chat, you just need a Claude or ChatGPT account. For the n8n workflow, you need an n8n account, an OpenAI or Anthropic API key, and a Tavily search key (a free plan is available). AI usage isn't included in the price.
Using the agents in chat is covered by your Claude or ChatGPT plan. The n8n workflow uses your own API accounts, which charge per use: Tavily's free plan covers roughly 160 standard research runs a month, and AI model costs depend on your provider. The setup guide shows you how to set a spending limit.
The email step ships switched off. The guide walks you through turning on n8n's built-in human review first, so every email waits for you to approve or deny it. Nothing is sent without your OK.
